The Scottish Highlands

The most widely recognised feature on the battlefield is the cairn erected by Duncan Forbes in 1881 and stands 20ft high. He also placed Clan Stones that mark where dead Jacobite soldiers were buried by local people. There is an English Stone but no exact site of government graves was recorded. The Government forces included three Scottish infantry regiments so the term 'English' is used loosely.
